Martha and I went for dinner in Butt Mullins on Friday night. Excellent food, excellent service as usual. Butt's is the kind of restaurant that's great for couples and groups alike, where you're made to feel welcome and you can stay as long as you like without feeling you have to leave. The food is fantastic, very tasty with almost perfect portion sizes (though you can never get enough of the gratin potatoes). It's also well priced with 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts, a bottle of wine and coffees coming to around the €90 mark. Our meal was (excuse the drool on the keyboard, I hope it doesn't show through):
Homemade fishcake and Goat's cheese bruschetta for starters,
Pork medallions with veg, and Farfalle with chicken and roast vegetables for mains,
Homemade Icecream and the legendary Pavlova for desserts.
Vat 8 Shiraz (de 2 tousand and tree, very posh doncha know), from de bortoli's vineyard in Australia.
All utterly delicious.
Highly recommended, in my opinion this is the best restaurant in Naas!
(I must say there is one restaurant I haven't tried yet so this opinion is qualified by that.....but the other one's menu is a little too "posh and fancy" for my taste)
