Call of Duty for PC

Evening, hope you all managed to last a couple of days without any posts from me? I went to Donegal to see Pete on Thursday, and then went to some friends' housewarming in Monaghan on Saturday. Great fun.

No major news at present, but I finished Call of Duty last week - well the original game anyway, I still have the expansion pack to play! This is a great game, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes first person shooters.

This is a world war II first person shooter game, in which you play - in turns - American, British and Russian soldiers fighting against the Germans. Super atmosphere in the game, I don't know what war feels like, but this game manages to make you feel like you're at least near a battle!

The baddies seem clever, taking cover when you fire on them - and they are able to aim for you aswell, there's plenty of wondering where that nasty one came from when the screen turns red and you slump to the ground. Lots of variety in weapons, given the different armies you fight for, and you get to drive a tank, and defend jeeps and trucks from chasing German vehicles too! All great fun.

Fantastic variety in the missions too, with trench warfare and urban fighting, and the landscape and settings vary nicely between missions.

The graphics are great, and I'm using pretty low graphics levels on my new pc, given that it's onboard graphics card isn't the sharpest knife in the armoury. I'd love to upgrade the graphics card for games like that, it'd make everything look fantastic! The only time the game slows down is when there are lots of nasty enemy types on the screen, the rest of the time the game plays fine.

I can't think of any real reason to fault this game at all. In that case, I shall assign 19 points out of a possible 21, docking 2 simply because some of the missions are very short and over before you feel you've started. Highly recommended.
