Seeing how I've had two Google hits on my site from people who've searched Google for my Compaq Presario SR1619, I thought I'd add another brief post to outline my experience to date....
It works very well. Startup and shutdown usually happen nice and quickly. The only weakness I've found is when playing games (first person shooters - Call of Duty etc) there can be an occasionally noticeable slowing down and you'll notice from other posts that I'm considering buying a separate graphics card - if that's a concern for you then budget at least €150 for this upgrade! I presume this would go for any onboard graphics system.
It's nice and quiet though, and I haven't had any crashes on it yet. That reminds me - I must backup the hard disk shortly! When buying it, budget some money for a graphics card, and consider the monitor you're getting. The monitor I got (Bought from Dixons) is quite good, nice and bright, but it's got built in speakers that really aren't up to much.
It's a nice colour and style - not awful garish looking, as some are these days. Here's the link to the specification.
For the spec you get though, I think this machine is good value. (at the price I got it for, €799)
