Initial D - Japanese Manga Comic type book

I was in a well known national bookshop chain and saw Manga books for sale. Never having read one, I picked up 2 for the price of 1. That was the deal that was on, no theft involved. Anyhow, read it cover to cover (back to front, in "the authentic style"). Here is my brief report.

Never read a graphic novel before. This was quite an interesting experience. The graphic nature of the story is very different. A lot more information is transferred to the reader, in that you can see the expression on character's faces and the backgrounds and objects involved. But then, some drawing takes up a lot of room, so you don't actually get to read a story any quicker or easier.

An odd story (but then it "is" japanese culture, which isn't the same as mine), but enjoyable for it. I was a little bewildered towards the end, when the story didn't seem to be wrapping up. A small bit of checking on the Internet explained why. There are about 22 volumes. I won't be buying them all!!
