Rejoice!! Rejoice!!!

Tiling is complete. Grouting is finished in the kitchen, as are my fingers. I am typing without the use of my middle and index finger (holds fingers up to the screen to show the injuries) as they hurt. Can't you tell I'm typing slower than usual?

Life continues otherwise, tile choice must be made for other surfaces, hairy surfacing for other rooms also must be decided upon. Antiweed solution working away on the garden (I feel 40% guilty to be honest, some of them had nice flowers, and what's a "weed" anyway.....?).

Missed the All Ireland Hurling final yesterday, as we have no telly yet....and didn't think to go anywhere to see it. Also missed the soccer on Saturday, but by all accounts not much was missed there - I heard the new manager was kicking bottles off the sideline and throwing his badge into the crowd.....temper temper!

I can report that 5-a-side soccer, like most forms of exercise, is bad for you in the short term. I played an hour's worth on Thursday and still felt stiff and strained on Sunday. Hopefully a swim this evening will sort the last of that out, and I'll be ready to play again this Thursday - I did enjoy it, and it's a good way to meet people from the building that you mightn't otherwise meet.

Seeing as you're finished reading here, I can highly recommend a visit to Darin's Blog (see link to the right, or click here) as he has an interesting (and well-illustrated) report on a visit to Noo Yawk City.

BTW - I have a number of books to briefly review that will have to wait till I've got more time and an Internet connection at the new home. Shout out to all you commenters, I appreciate the time and (small) effort it takes to say something back to me! Those of you who haven't yet, do so. You will be Enlightened, and we will know Who You Are.....

  1. You have a link to Make Povery History on your page (well done) and I was wondering...what are your views on the white bands? I wear one...so does J...just wondering what anybody else thought about them really. They are still on sale for this year's campaign, although ours say 2005 :o)

  3. White bands??
Depleting developing countries of their oil reserves. Shame on you!!

Still though.... imagine all the sweets/bread/weavil infested rice a small philippino child will be able to buy with the money he earned from making it.

  4. Exactly how does wearing a white band deplete developing countries of their oil reserves? I am intrigued.

And Brian, I mind not how you respond to my little question, in comment or full-posting format, either is fine with me.
