We got Broadband!
I thought it wasn't working, so I rang the Eircom helpline with the €10 free callcard. Wow, what a service. I hung up after 31 minutes, which was probably just when the credit ran out. So then I moved the wireless router to the downstairs phone jack, and came online immediately. It appears the upstairs phone jack doesn't work. Thankfully we have wireless phones too.
Let me just go grab the NYC journal till we see how things are going....
