The dangers of forgetting what you've bought on the internet

I got an email message from cdwow today. Sure enough that CD I ordered in July has been dispatched. Now, if that isn't speedy service, I'm not Timmy the Tortoise.

Nah, seriously, the folks at cdwow are usually excellent at sending stuff. This was coming from their "warehouse" though, so you may wish to bear that in mind. It didn't cost much. Hence I wasn't too worried about it. Also, last time something was delayed, it was a very important U2 album (How to dismantle an atomic bomb, or to use the easy title, HTDAAB) which I needed. They didn't have it on release day, and kindly refunded my money without any fuss or trouble.

I recommend them. But I also recommend recollecting what you've ordered, so you don't get a shock. Still, it's a nice surprise!

  1. It is one of the main variables when ordering off the internet is the length of delivery time. Some places are great, others very slow. And like you say sometimes a bit of each from the same company! I ordered a present for Dad over the internet for Christmas. I had never ordered stuff from the retailer before so I wasn't sure how long it would take. So to make sure it would arrive in time I ordered it well in advance and obviously it arrived in record time. Great to have it so early so I wasn't left worrying that it had been lost in the post but when opened on the big day I realised that the 'return with your money back if there is a problem' period was stated as 14 days after delivery. It had been delivered by DHL so they knew when it had been signed for so if there were any problems it might have been tricky to get my money back.
