I went to Carlow for lunch on Saturday. I actually left 3 places because they took too long to acknowledge my presence, let alone serve me. Had reasonably lunch in a bar. It was ok. I can't remember it's name.
Drove on to Leighlinbridge (picturesque) and Old Leighlin (not so much). That satisfied the curiosity I had about what Old Leighlin looks like. Made my way over the mountains to Castlecomer, where I stopped at the craft village on the north side - I had my book with me, and thought coffee and a scone would be nice.
I heartily unrecommend it. Though the setting was picturesque, the service was dire (story of the day), filter coffee was expensive and the scone is another paragraph's worth altogether....
The scone was so thin I couldn't even slice it in half. I would make better myself. It was more like a breadbiscuit. Measly. In fact it wasn't measly, as a measle would have been bigger. So don't stop there.
People seem to have stopped leaving comments on your Blog. How upsetting. Have one on me.
