My First Review - Deception Point, Dan Brown.

This is the most recent of Dan Brown's books that I've finished, and like the others (I've gone through the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons) it is a serious page-turner. I don't think I've had my nose so stuck in a book in a long time (well since I read the other 2 anyway!). It sucks you in and teases you with tiny little cliff hangers at the end of each chapter that make you want to read and read and read.

The story is quite simple, the main character is sent to the site of a meteorite discovery that NASA have made where she's got to analyse the data for a White House presentation. All is not as it appears however (would we be interested in a book where all is as it appears?) and she is soon fleeing for her life, with a handsome male co-hero (naturally). The tale ducks and dives with an incredible pace, weaving between 2 plot streams and converging in a dramatic ending that had me up reading way past my bed time. It also had a very satisfying moment (about 2/3rds through) where I realised what the prologue was all about!

If I was rating it, which I think I am, I would definitely give it 16 / 16 for excitement, drama and the ability to hold the reader's interest.
