A general update. Well, it is the 27th you know.

Well good evening, and here is the 22:34-ish news:
  • Band in next stage of song contest. At a recent competition, the Isohels performed so well that they have qualified for the next stages. The first stage, in the Voodoo lounge on Dublin's Northside (well only just I know) was held on Saturday evening. Details on the next round are still sketchy at this point, but a source close to the band has hinted that the "gig" would take place at a well-known music centre in Temple Bar. It is entirely possible that this is a national-type final of this competition. Congratulations must go to the Isohels. Attendance will be better the next time.

  • Bullet points used for first time on prenderb.blogspot.com . Bullet points, a very useful formatting tool widely used to delineate important points in such documents as letters, reports and curricula vitae, were used this evening for the first time on Brian's Blog. It is not known at this stage whether anybody will notice, but if nobody does notice we're sure he'll tell someone.

  • Important Purchase made. The housing market took a turn for the worse recently with the announcement that Brian and Martha have put a deposit on a house at Fern's Bridge, Monasterevin. Whilst they originally thought they were engaging in lucrative slave trade (by buying you three over there), the use of the Kildare accent led to the purchase of a Yew Tree type house. Specifically, number 15, the Avenue. An increase in the incidence of headaches, bewilderment (tile- and carpet-induced) and "fridge envy" have already been reported in the area.

  • Sports news: I completed 56 lengths of the pool tonight for an arm-aching 2006 personal best of 1400m swim in 1 hour. I don't know how I'm typing this but it feels like it could be the last thing that happens.

  • Weather Report: Spring? Who said it was spring? And I'll tell you what - it may be summer time but it's not summer time anyway. Click the link above for the weather in your area.
Well that was the news. Goodnight and thank you for reading.

I hope to launch my next series of book reports over the coming days.

  2. Spring? You know it is spring when it stays above 0 celcius for the whole day.
