More Photos from Riga - I'll clean it up tomorrow.

This is a little like a dripfeed, but it takes a while to upload the pics so you'll excuse me for not hooshing them all on at once. Cos I can't.
This place is really called the Blackhead House. We didn't get in because it's closed on Mondays. Why didn't we check before saying "we'll go see that place on Monday...."? I don't know. Ask Donal. Why does everywhere close on Mondays? I don't know, ask Donal.

Anyway, time for another picture I think. How about 2 typical street scenes from Riga. Notice the excellent registration number on the BMW 6-series on the right (you might have to click on it to open it large enough to read....)

So, here's another picture. This is our car in Latvia - Germany's finest 4WD. Notice the backwards flag on the passenger side. No the picture is not mirrored, the passenger sits on the driver's side in foreign countries. I liked sitting in this car.

This is a picture taken inside the Small Guild, where the St. Patrick's Day reception was held. That was nice, there was music and dancing and singing. And beer. And whiskey, and genuine Irish food - prime example being quail's egg and black pudding. I don't know what that was like. There was caviar too. I don't know what that was like either. I know, I'm a wimp. But I did try the canned Guinness with the really cool ultrasonic head-induction device. Note to self - find out more.

The next photos were taken, all on the same day, in Sigulde - the little town I spoke about earlier.

To your left is a picture of, Donal, Pete and myself. Peter shows us his best profile! Below is a picture of the snow blizzard we encountered - locals might have said it was a brief shower, their equivalent of "a grand soft day to be sure to be sure".

On your left is a picture of a restaurant in Sigulde. We didn't eat here. Below there's a picture I took of Sigulde from the train station entrance. Looks nice, dunnit?

So, what have we learned? Blogger is very tedious for playing with photographs, that's for sure. I hope you have some idea of what Riga looks like (though maybe moreso of Sigulde!) Comments on a postcard please to prenderb.blogspot.com!
