Not much to report to be honest. I went to see a BMW K100 yesterday morning in Inchicore (thanks again for your time Jon!) and didn't buy it, not enough right with it to consider! It looks like it'll be hard to find a K100/K75, I must look into perhaps buying from the UK.
So then I went to visit a friend in hospital (hope you're out Sunday!) and just mooched about Dublin, getting a bit of lunch here, and a cup of coffee there (well, actually a capuccino and scone in Keoghs - mmm hmm.) Donated some money to Oxfam, they donated some books to me. (I can hear you complaining!) I was a little irritated to read as Gaeilge in the National Museum about one of the signatories of the Proclamation being a "si ni theoir" [sic] and about such a thing as an Éirí Amach - I stand correctible as ever, but I would have thought that should have been an Eirí Amach. Comments to correct will of course be published, as will an apology to the Museum!
Went out for some beers with M and her friend who was over from Scotland. Haydens was very busy last night. Managed to get asleep at about 0400 this morning. Bloody Dawn Chorus.
Wrestled myself out of bed this morning and onto the bike YAY for the 2006 Bubblegum Run. If you're not familiar, it's basically an excuse for lots of bikers to get together and go on a big drive from Dublin to Mondello. Importantly there's some money collected for the Bubblegum Club (sick children, great cause) - anyone who wants to provide post-event sponsorship it will of course be welcomed.
So there were about 200 bikes there today. All sorts of machines from my humble 500cc ER-5 to Ducati 999s, new GSX-Rs, the always-impressive BMW models - new F800s is very very very nice looking indeed - Harleys, sidecars, it's brilliant! I was on the 2004 run aswell and am always very impressed to be part of such a big ride-out, seeing a mile of bikes on the road in 2s in front of you is a real sight to behold.
We actually got separated from the main body of the run somehow this morning, and I was in the back group so I think I missed the Garda escort which meant we had to obey traffic lights on the way out of Dublin - grrrr. There was a race meeting on at Mondello, so we got to see that, and a spin on the track in between the races!
I didn't win a Ducati Multistrada, so don't ring me looking to have a go. I did want to though. That's about it. Back to work tomorrow, isn't that fantastic?
Right, until next time, it's a goodbye from him.
